The Barrel & Cap Blanks: The core body sections feature an organic, layered pattern typical of a stabilized woolly mammoth tusk. The rhythmic, alternating bands of cream, golden-tan, and dark gray show the unique mineral-rich enamel layers of prehistoric teeth preserved in arctic permafrost. Because the ancient material is naturally brittle and porous, it is stabilized and cast with a clear resin to create a highly durable, polished finish. Cross-cut mammoth molar tooth must be stabilized with specialized resins before turning, which makes the raw "blank" highly expensive to acquire.
Metal Hardware: The writing instrument features heavy, polished chrome or silver-toned hardware. The metal components include a shiny grip section, a decorative band near the threading, a distinct center band on the cap with intricate textured leaf patterning, and a rounded finial on the end.
